Grower-Owned Since 1983

The people who grow it are the people who own it.

Most processors buy their tomatoes. We grow ours. Ingomar was founded and is still owned by farming families who tend the fields — which is exactly why our quality starts long before the fruit reaches the line.

What it means

A model that's simple, and genuinely rare.

When Ingomar was founded in 1983, it did something almost no industrial processor had done: it was owned by the growers themselves. Four decades later, that hasn't changed. The founding farming families remain major shareholders, and they still personally oversee the cultivation of the majority of the tomatoes we process.

It means there's no gap between the field and the factory — no anonymous supply chain, no hand-off of responsibility. The person who decides how the crop is grown has a direct stake in how the finished paste turns out.

"For our owners, every load that comes in carries their own name."
Why it matters

Ownership changes everything downstream.

🌱

Quality at the source

Because owners grow the crop, quality control begins in the field — variety selection, ripeness, and handling are managed by the people who answer for the final product.

🔗

Vertical integration

A stable, largely self-supplied raw material base means fewer unknowns, tighter consistency, and reliability season after season.

❤️

Personal accountability

This isn't a commodity relationship. When the growers own the company, standards are a matter of pride — not a line in a contract.

The Founding Partners

Built by farming families.

Ingomar's grower-partners are, first and foremost, processing-tomato farmers — and they remain major shareholders and stewards of the company's quality today.

Field to Finish

One unbroken chain of ownership.

In most of the industry these steps belong to different companies. At Ingomar, they belong to the same people.

Grown by owners

Grower-partners plant and cultivate the crop on their own surrounding farms.

Harvested at peak

Fruit moves from field to facility fast, preserving color, sugar, and flavor.

Processed in-house

Two Los Banos plants turn the harvest into premium paste, crushed, and diced.

Backed by their name

The owners stand behind every drum and bin that leaves the dock.

What it means for you

Why buyers choose a grower-owned supplier.

🎯

Consistency you can plan around

A self-supplied, vertically integrated base delivers dependable quality and supply, season after season.

🧪

Traceability to the field

Ownership of the crop means clearer visibility from seed to finished product.

🛠️

True custom packing

Controlling the crop and the line lets us tune varieties, concentration, and cut to your recipe.

🤝

A partner, not a broker

You're working directly with the growers and processors — not a middleman reselling someone else's fruit.

Leadership

Four decades of steady hands.

Ingomar has been guided by grower-partner leadership since day one. CEO Greg Pruett has managed the business for most of the last 40 years, keeping the company's focus exactly where it started — on growing and processing the best tomatoes in the world.

That continuity is a quiet advantage: the institutional knowledge of four decades, and owners who measure success in generations, not quarters.
